What is wrong with my Sleep Number bed? ›

People have also complained about Sleep Number beds being uncomfortable. Some talk about the bed deflating too often and others say it simply feels like a glorified air mattress. Also, depending on the model you receive, some Sleep Number's don't come with a cushioned mattress pad, making the bed feel extra firm.

Ordinary mattresses tend to need replacing every 8-10 years, but the Sleep Number 360^® smart bed is designed to last 15 years or more. Sleep with confidence, as any warranted repair or replacement is also fully covered the first year, then prorated based on your purchase date.

Air loss can be caused by a loose or broken connection, or a leak in your air chamber, pump, or hoses. Complete troubleshooting to fix the problem. According to Sleep Number representatives, the most common Sleep Number is somewhere in the 35-40 range. With 0 being the softest bed and 100 being the firmest.

We recommend rotating and/or flipping your comfort layers at the same time you flip your top mattress cover. This will help prevent the formation of permanent body impressions in your comfort layer from repeated use in the same area.

If the power goes out, a Sleep Number® bed will simply stay at the same Sleep Number® setting it was at before the power went out, and you can resume your ability to make a comfort setting change, when the power comes back on.

Sagging. As we mentioned earlier, most air mattresses feature a single air chamber. When this air chamber isn't completely full, the surface of the mattress sags in the middle. This happens sometimes with Sleep Number mattresses.

Sleep Number's Exchange Policy

Sleep Number currently has no such trade-in program. You won't be able to trade in your old mattress for a new one, but if you purchased a Sleep Number bed and aren't satisfied, you may be able to exchange it for a different Sleep Number model.

Your Sleep Number setting is impacted by your preferences and factors including: body weight, sleep position and the volume of air in the mattress while you are in bed. We recommend adjusting your Sleep Number setting if you've experienced any changes that impact the feel of your bed.

You will need air chamber caps in order to move your bed. These are small white plastic caps that should have came with your bed.

Why does my bed have a dent where I sleep? ›

There are two main cases of dents in a mattress: natural compression or the premature breakdown of a mattress's components. The former, also known as a body impression, can show up as soon as two or three nights of your sleeping on the mattress and should cause small indentations only.

Baseline your bed.

If it does, the uneven appearance is likely due to the fact that the mattress is not full when at a lower Sleep Number^® setting. This is easily addressed by changing your Sleep Number^® setting to 100 when you are not in bed.

Blue: The backlight is blue when adjusting or setting up a remote, and off when not in motion. Off/No light: It is normal for the backlight to be off when not in motion. If the light is off when pressed make sure your FlexFit adjustable base is plugged into a working outlet not controlled by a switch.

Do Sleep Number beds have mold problems? ›

Yes, Sleep Number beds do get mold because there's not much ventilation within the mattress, moisture stays in the mattress, and it eventually builds up, causing the mattress to start growing mold. It can trigger allergies, and the company doesn't accept returns for this specific reason.

If you donate, give, or sell your bed to another person or entity, or otherwise dispose of it, it is your responsibility to immediately deactivate the services and your user profile(s) and notify us by calling (888) 484-9263. Use of the services or the system is non-transferrable to the new owner of the bed.

Requesting a return or exchange

While adjustable beds are designed for elevation while in use, it's not a great idea to leave them upright. Try to lower your adjustable bed whenever you're not using it, as it's better for the mattress and frame to lay flat. You should get more use out of your adjustable bed if you store it flat whenever possible.

By rotating a mattress, swapping the foot and head of the bed, you can extend its lifespan significantly. Regularly rotating a bed will help to prevent premature sagging. Doing so every three to six months is a good rule of thumb. If your mattress is already sagging, rotating it can still help.

Mattress sagging is usually caused by lack of mattress care, where the sleeper uses the same part of the bed each night, thereby causing the fibres to eventually sag from overuse. It stands to reason that, as you are only sleeping in an area the width of your body, the central and perimeter areas will be underutilised.

What firmness is best for sleeping? ›

In general, side sleepers should look for Medium Soft to Medium Firm mattresses that can cushion their impact points. Back and stomach sleepers should look for Medium Firm to Firm beds that have only light conforming.

Over time, the smart bed's machine learning and artificial intelligence can identify out-of-norm events and alert the sleeper to pattern changes. In the future, the 360 smart bed may detect illness and alert a sleeper to potential health conditions including insomnia, sleep apnea or cardiac events.

Make sure you bed is plugged into a working outlet that is not controlled by a switch. Make sure your phone or tablet is compatible with SleepIQ technology. Check your device for available updates to make sure the SleepIQ app is updated to the latest version.

The error means that the remote has lost connection with the pump. This error will remain on the remote until it is cleared, even if the connection issues has been resolved.

We recommend sleeping at your Sleep Number® setting for two to five nights. If you're not comfortable after that, try adjusting your setting by 5 or 10. Increasing your setting—for example, from 35 to 40—will provide a firmer mattress. Decreasing your setting—for example, from 35 to 30—will provide a softer mattress.

Can I move my Sleep Number bed without taking it apart? ›

The Firmness Control System is very delicate and needs to be packed tight enough in a box so that it doesn't shake or move around in transit. The Sleep Number bed frame is sturdy but can be twisted or bent while moving, so it's best to disassemble the base, frame, and headboards.

My bed has never been online

The E13 error code indicates that your bed is not online and connected to the SleepIQ^® server. You may see the E13 code if your SleepIQ^® system hasn't been set up or if you have recently made changes to your home Wi-Fi network, such as changing your Wi-Fi network security setting, network name or network password.

Most often, an E3 bed position connectivity error means the FlexFit™ adjustable base isn't getting power. The first step to fixing this error is identifying if you have a traditional FlexFit™ adjustable base or a 360 FlexFit™ smart base.

August 17, 2021. Applies to 12-button 360 remote. The Foot Warming error means that the Foot Warming feature has been self-disabled by the base. The bed knows when this feature is not working as designed.
